“In the same way, let your light shine before others,
that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16
You were made to shine.
But what is keeping your light from shining as brightly as
it could?
You were made for a purpose.
Ephesians 2:10, states:
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them"
However, I also believe that too many of us are not fully letting our purposeful light shine in the world.
Not because we lack ability.
Not necessarily because we lack knowledge.
And not always because we lack strategy.
Sometimes, something internal is getting in
the way.
I call these things Joy Blockers.
The problem is that what holds you back rarely stays
inside you.
It eventually shows up in the real world.
It can show up in a business that isn't
generating enough sales.
In opportunities you keep postponing.
In debt that keeps getting harder to
escape.
In the wrong people being hired — or the
right people being held back.
In a leader who is constantly working but
never seems to get ahead.
In a business owner who has become the
bottleneck in their own business.
In burnout.
In strained relationships.
In decisions made from fear, pressure or
the need to prove something.
And eventually, in growth that is smaller
than it could have been.
After years of working with businesses, leaders and
entrepreneurs, I've learned something.
I've seen people with excellent strategies
struggle to execute them.
I've seen intelligent people know exactly
what they should do — and still struggle to do it.
I've seen businesses with good products
struggle to sell.
I've seen capable leaders become exhausted
because everything depends on them.
And I've seen people remain trapped by
patterns they couldn't see clearly enough to change.
That's why I became interested in what sits
behind the strategy.
The things holding us back don't always look like
problems.
That's what makes them so powerful.
A Joy Blocker can disguise itself as
something positive.
·
Perfection can look like
excellence.
·
Control can look like
responsibility.
·
The need for approval can look
like being a good leader.
·
The pursuit of achievement can
look like ambition.
·
The need for certainty can look
like prudence.
But when these patterns begin to control us
rather than serve us, they can quietly limit how we think, decide, lead, sell, relate
and perform.
My work is about helping you recognise
those patterns, understand them and — where necessary — let them go.
Imagine what could change if what was holding you back no
longer had the same power over you.
·
You could sell with greater
confidence.
·
Lead without carrying
everything yourself.
·
Make decisions without being
paralysed by the need for certainty.
·
Build healthier relationships.
·
Handle money with greater
freedom.
·
Create a business that isn't
entirely dependent on you.
·
Pursue growth without
sacrificing everything else.
And perhaps most importantly: you could
become more fully the person God created you to be.
That is what the book, the free community
and working 1-2-1 with me is about.
Start by becoming curious about what may be getting in your way.
Read or Listen to Parts One & Two of
Let Go and Let God, Tapping into Your Innate Peace and Joy and begin asking a different question:
“What might I need to let go of so that I can let my light
shine?”
The question isn't whether you have
something to offer, you were designed for a purpose, a light meant to shine bright.
The question is whether you are fully
allowing yourself to shine.
My invitation to you is let your light shine.
For your family. For your business. For the people you lead. For the people you serve. For the world around you.
And ultimately, for the glory of our Father in heaven.
